Money manager-turned-DJ Paul Sevigny has established himself as the soundtrack of choice for exclusive fashion shows, store openings, and nightclubs around the world. With a unique blend of rock, punk, and metal, Sevigny has solidified his status as an A-list DJ with an impressive client list that includes Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Hard Rock Cafe, Coca-Cola, Mick Jagger, and Michael Bloomberg.
Sevigny, the older brother of Oscar-nominated actress Chloe, hardly intended to cement his celebrity as a DJ. A professional skateboarder as a teenager, Sevigny became an Olympic-caliber sailor while in college. Nevertheless, the Connecticut native returned home after earning his degree to work as a commodities trader. Four years later, trading gave way to money management as Sevigny joined Dana Giachetto’s Cassandra Group. Within months, however, Giachetto was being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission and jailed for trying to flee the country. Without a job, but with a substantial record collection, Sevigny deejayed a friend’s birthday party and within months became a fixture at nightclubs around New York.
Some six years later, Sevigny is one of the most sought after DJs in the world. With a fearless ability to merge genre, Sevigny has become an international favorite, playing to crowds in London, Paris, and Tokyo. A member of the critically-acclaimed New York rock group, A.R.E. Weapons, Sevigny’s accidental detour away from Wall Street seems to be working out just fine.
