July 22nd, 2013 – Angel Mary & The Tennessee Werewolves will be releasing their highly anticipated single, “Folsom Prison Blues” on July 30th. The follow up release to their debut hit, “Cowboy” – “Folsom Prison Blues” is the ultimate tribute cover to Angel Mary’s country hero, Johnny Cash, who originally recorded the song in 1955. The new single will be available online at iTunes.

Co-produced by John Carter-Cash the track also features Carter-Cash on acoustic guitar and Rob Caggiano of Volbeat on electric guitar. Recorded at The Cash Cabin Studio which is famed for Johnny Cash’s “Walk The Line”, the studio also served as a haven where Cash recorded some of his later hits.

The name of the family trio Angel Mary & The Tennessee Werewolves was inspired by Cash. Johnny initially started with Johnny & The Tennessee Two and shortly after, Johnny & The Tennessee Three; The name Angel Mary & The Tennessee was derived from this moniker. The “Werewolves” part was inspired by Johnny Cash’s “The Beast In Me” from his American Recordings project. Angel Mary believes every man has a bit of a beast in them – hence Angel Mary & The Tennessee Werewolves. The trio is made up of Angel Mary, brother Christian Wolf and dad Antoine Wolf.

Country and rock mix versions of “Folsom Prison Blues” are also to be released with alternate explicit lyric version – a tribute to the outlaw side of Johnny Cash.
